You’d be forgiven for thinking it's impossible to find a property for £10,000 or less in 2024.

But there are still plenty of homes listed on Zoopla for £10,000 or less.

If you’re looking for your first home, a renovation project or an investment property, we’re here to help.

We’ve scoured the market to find 10 of the best homes listed for around £10,000.

Before we dive in, keep in mind that some of these properties are leasehold, so you would be buying a lease on the property but not the land.

Others are for sale by auction, so their final sale price might be higher than the guide price.

Let’s take a closer look at these affordable homes for sale.

1. Potential one-bedroom flat, Streatham Hill, London, £10,000

Potential one-bedroom flat, Streatham Hill, London, £10,000

Okay, so £10K in London isn’t going to buy you a complete home. But this auction price for the leasehold of a lower ground floor of a Victorian house, is within budget.

Situated on an attractive street on the north side of Leigham Vale, this has huge potential if you’ve got the stomach for a project.

Subject to planning permission and building regulations, acquiring this leasehold of 90 years via auction could give you the option of building a self-contained one-bed home.

Obviously, you’ve got to factor in the potential cost and time that a development of this sort will take, and it’s also possible that the leasehold will go for more than £10K.

The location is strong though, with Streatham High road lying to the west and top public transport links, including a rail connection at Tulse Hill.

It has a great location on the beach not far from the Meridian Point events arena and is a 20-minute walk from Cleethorpes Town Centre.

The beach hut has twin French doors, a water supply, a sink and small stove.

The flat is on the first floor of the block, with an open-plan kitchen and living area, a private balcony, a bedroom and a separate bathroom.

Mid-terrace house, Dyfed, Wales, £10,000

Chybean Cottage on Meyrick Street in Pembroke Dock, Dyfed offers a development opportunity.

The building itself is classed as derelict, which means it is in a bad state of repair because it has not been maintained or lived in for a long time.

The sale of the building is leasehold with 994 years remaining on the lease. It includes land to the back that is also in need of renovation.

Again, it’ll take a good deal of cash and hard work to get this home back to its potential. But situated on a residential road close to local shops as well as the green space of Memorial Park, it could make a wonderful home.

Pembroke Dock railway station is nearby, providing a connection to Swansea within a couple of hours.
