comScore data confirms Zoopla.co.uk as #2 UK property site

21st March 2011

According to the latest data from independent website traffic monitoring firm comScore, Zoopla.co.uk was once again the second most-visited property website in the UK in February. This follows the most recent independent figures from Nielsen (Source: MediaTel/UKOM) that also place Zoopla.co.uk in the #2 position behind Rightmove.

Comparing the stats to one year ago, the comScore figures show that Zoopla.co.uk has grown its audience by a staggering 117%, double that of its nearest rival Rightmove (59%) and well ahead of Findaproperty (45%) and Primelocation (33%) as Zoopla.co.uk continues to take share from its rivals.

The four leading UK portals now account for the significant majority of all property website visits, as more and more consumers turn to them first when searching for property. The most recent comScore and Nielsen data both show a remarkably similar picture in terms of the relative market share of the four main players with Rightmove at 44%, Zoopla.co.uk at 22%, Findaproperty at 21% and Primelocation at 13%.

The latest comScore figures show that Zoopla.co.uk had a unique audience of 2,908,000 users in February compared to 5,899,000 for Rightmove, 2,830,000 for Findaproperty and 1,675,000 for Primelocation.

Alex Chesterman, Founder & CEO of Zoopla said: “The figures show that the leading property portals continue to grow and are attracting the majority of those searching for property and researching the market. Of course, the fact that Zoopla is growing faster than anyone else is great news for our members and we are delighted to see our growth continue so strongly. The size of our audience and our growing market share clearly show that the days of there being only one player in town are long gone.”
