Zoopla launches first comprehensive UK property app for Android

17th January 2011

Following the success of its highly acclaimed iPhone app, which achieved over 50,000 downloads in its first two weeks alone, Zoopla.co.uk has become the first of the major UK property portals to launch an app for users of Android powered smartphones. The free, feature-packed app has been designed as the ultimate property market resource, allowing users to both search for property listings and research the property market 'on the move'.

The Zoopla Android app, much like its iPhone counterpart, is packed full of features that make it the UK’s most comprehensive property market app. With hundreds of thousands of property listings, over 16 million sold prices dating back to 1995 and free instant value estimates for every UK home all in the palm of your hand, the new Android app is set to become a must-have resource for anyone interested in the property market.

And, having been the first property website in the UK to make use of Augmented Reality technology in its iPhone app, Zoopla has replicated this popular functionality in its new Android app, which lets the user point their phone at any property using camera view to display any relevant information such as whether the property is for sale, how much it last sold for or what it is valued at today.

Key features of the Zoopla Android app include:

  • Hundreds of thousands of properties for sale and to rent
  • Free, instant value estimates for all 27 million UK homes
  • Over 16 million house prices paid dating back to 1995
  • Local market data including average home values by area
  • Map-led search as well as list view and Augmented Reality
  • One touch click to call or email estate agents instantly

Alex Chesterman, Founder & CEO of Zoopla said: "Our iPhone app has already become an essential tool for house hunters and property professionals alike. We have now brought this same experience to Android users, providing easy access to property listings and market information ‘on location’ as the perfect mobile resource for both property search and research."

About Zoopla

Hello. We're Zoopla. A property website and app.

We know you're not just looking for a place to live. You're looking for a home.

Yeah, we've got over a million properties for you to browse.

Tools that let you filter them in all kinds of clever ways.

And reliable house price estimates, so you can be sure you aren't paying over the odds.

But we know you're looking for more than that.

Because that first flat won't just be a 'great investment opportunity'.

It'll be the feeling of starting out on your own.

That extra bedroom won't just mean another £20K on the re-sale price, it'll mean having your sister over to stay.

And that bungalow won't just be a way to release some equity, it will be a chance to spend more time with the grandkids.

We know that searching for a home is about more than just checking its price, location and features (important as all those things are).

What really matters is how it makes you feel.

We know what a home is really worth.

So let us help you find yours.
