Zoopla signs up over 1,000 new agent members in Q1

18th April 2012

Zoopla.co.uk has revealed that it has added 1,124 new estate and letting agent branches to its website during the first quarter of 2012, bringing its total number of paying members to over 11,750. This is the largest quarterly increase in advertisers for the property portal since its launch 4 years ago and has led to the number of property listings available on the website now topping 600,000.

New agent groups to have recently joined Zoopla include Beresfords (Essex), Farrell Heyworth (North West), Putterills (Hertfordshire), Greenslade Taylor Hunt (South West), Newton Fallowell (East Midlands) and Dawsons (Wales) among many others. The increase reflects a combination of the growing shift from offline to online property advertising, Zoopla’s increasing market share evident from the latest Nielsen figures showing it as having the second-largest online property audience in the UK and early signs of a recovery in the housing market.

Jon Notley, Commercial Director Zoopla.co.uk said:: “We’re delighted that so many estate agents and letting agents across the country are now choosing Zoopla as their portal of choice to get the exposure and enquiries that drive their business. It is a reflection of the investment that we have made and continue to make to ensure that we are the leading online marketing partner for UK property advertisers in terms of both value and service.”

Chris Heyworth of Farrell Heyworth commented: “We are delighted to associate the Farrell Heyworth brand with Zoopla. Our initial levels of enquiries have been tremendous, providing our 20 offices with a quality stream of potential clients across the whole market. Particularly we have been impressed by their transparent, and value based pricing model and look forward to developing this already successful partnership over many years.”

This week The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) gave its clearance for the proposed merger between Digital Property Group Ltd and Zoopla Ltd to go ahead. The transaction is now expected to complete within the next few weeks and will create a genuine challenger to current market-leader Rightmove.

We know that searching for a home is about more than just checking its price, location and features (important as all those things are).

What really matters is how it makes you feel.

We know what a home is really worth.

So let us help you find yours.
