Zoopla’s Pocklington office raises over £5,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in 2019

26th February 2020

Zoopla, the UK’s most comprehensive property destination, is proud to announce that its office in Pocklington, York has raised over £5,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), its chosen charity for 2019. The 22 strong team in York, which helps estate agents across the UK with industry-leading software, chose the YAA as its charity partner in 2019.

The team at Zoopla’s York office raised the sum from activities including a charity football match, completing the New Forest Half Marathon and even from a staff member playing Apex Legends & Fortnite for a solid 12 hours!

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was set up in 2000 and with the addition of the second Air Ambulance in October 2007, it has developed into a sophisticated emergency service that provides state-of-the-art emergency medical care throughout Yorkshire. The swift medical interventions provided by the Air Ambulance crews have a major impact on a patient’s chance of survival and subsequent quality of life. To date, over 8,000 people have been helped through the YAA.

Commenting on the donation Andy Ward, Zoopla’s charity champion in York, said: ”We are extremely proud that we are able to support such an important local charity. All of the team here are delighted that we’ve been able to raise so much. By committing to fundraising for YAA, we help the charity to continue its great work in the region, making a real difference to the local community.”

Kevin Hutchingson, Community Fundraiser at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: "On behalf of everyone at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, we’d like to sincerely thank everybody at Zoopla for their support towards YAA. As a charity, we rely on individuals, groups and organizations such as Zoopla to help us raise the vital monies we need each and every day. This donation will enable us to continue to help save lives across Yorkshire, and for that, we are extremely grateful."

The donation from Zoopla’s York office is part of the company’s wider efforts to support good causes close to its offices the length and breadth of the UK. In 2019 teams at its offices benefitted 40 good causes and raised over £66,000 to help those most in need.
